What is RONIN?

RONIN One is our app to enable you to buy, sell, manage, and transfer cryptocurrencies. Your blockchain powered money app.

How can I contact RONIN?

RONIN aims to be available 24/7, all day, all year. We are a small team, available during office hours (9am – 6pm UTC+1). However, since we care about our users, we tend to also respond out-of-office hours. For now, we guarantee a response within two working days. What is a cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrencies are digital currencies built on blockchain technology that only exist online.
The currencies are distributed, open-source, math-based peer-to-peer virtual currencies that have no central administrating authority, and no central monitoring or oversight. This makes cryptocurrencies decentralized. Examples: Bitcoin and Ethereum.

What are the requirements that I have to meet to use the RONIN app?

The following conditions should be met when you would like to use the services of RONIN:

  • ■  you are a natural person;
  • ■  you have reached the age of eighteen (18) years;
  • ■  you are residing within the EU/EEA;
  • ■  you are not a ‘US Person’.

Is it possible to make a corporate account?

At this moment it is only allowed to create an account as a natural person.

Am I allowed to create multiple RONIN accounts?

No, you are not allowed to have multiple RONIN accounts. If you do so nonetheless, our team will contact you via email about the follow-up measures.

Am I allowed to register with someone else’s bank account (IBAN)?

No, you have to use your own bank account (IBAN). If you do so nonetheless, our team will contact you via email about the follow-up measures.

My email address appears to be in use.

If it’s your email address, you can use ‘login’ instead of registering again. If you don’t remember your password, you can use the ‘forgot password’ button.

I did not receive an email to verify my email address.

We can check if a message was sent. Please check your email address again, also your spam box or ‘promotions’ (Google), to make sure that no type mistakes were made. If you’re sure it’s the right email address, please send us an email at support@ronin.id from the same email address and we will look it up.

I did not receive a text message to verify my phone number

We can check if a message was sent. Please check your phone number again to make sure that no type mistakes were made. If you’re sure it’s the right number, please send us an email at support@ronin.id with the right number and we will look it up.

I was unable to transfer €0,01.

Are you able to use iDEAL as a payment method? This is currently the only way we allow you to verify your bank account.

Why am I asked to set a PIN?

We want you to set a PIN for our app, so whenever you leave your phone unattended or unlocked, or when it’s lost, someone that has access to your phone won’t have easy access to your RONIN account. Every time you leave the app, you will be asked to use this PIN again. For certain activities within the app, we doublecheck by asking for your PIN again.

Why do I have to set a PIN again?

When you logged out of the app and want to log in again, we cannot determine if it’s a newly installed app or not, if you’re a new user or not. Therefore, we assume it’s always a new user, that has to set a PIN.

Buy

Why can I only spend up to €200 per day?

We currently verify users via email, phone number, and bank account. We limit the amount in order to minimize the risk of fraud, theft, and other unlawful behavior. We are working as quickly as possible to provide more methods for user verification. Once these are in place, we will be able to raise your limits.

Why do the fees change?

The fee is the sum of transaction costs and the costs of rendering buy and sell services (€0,99) and 2% of the value of the transaction. The 2% is to mitigate our market risk as we use our own stock to send you the cryptocurrencies. This is to keep our system secure and fast.

Sell

How do I sell my cryptocurrencies?

When you go to the view of any cryptocurrency you own, there is an icon with three dots App settings, roughly in the middle to the right of your screen. When you tap these dots, you are shown a menu with other activities for this cryptocurrency. Sell is one of them.

How do I change my public name?

Go to settings App profile settings, then click ‘my profile’, then tap in the public section.

How do I change my public profile picture?

Go to settings App profile settings, then click ‘my profile’, then tap ‘Change Photo’ in the public section.

How do I change my bank account?

We have locked your bank account to your RONIN account. If you want to change this, please send an email to support@ronin.id and include your email address, phone number and current bank account.

How do I change my email address?

We have locked your email address to your RONIN account. If you want to change this, please send an email to support@ronin.id and include your current email address, phone number and bank account.

How do I change my phone number?

We have locked your phone number to your RONIN account. If you want to change this, please send an email to support@ronin.id and include your email address, current phone number and bank account.

What does “level 1” mean?

Level 1 gives you access to buy, sell and send cryptocurrencies. This level means you can buy with a minimum of €20 per purchase and a maximum of €200 per 24 hours. You can sell for €10 (or at least the fee) per transaction and a maximum of €200 per 24 hours. Finally, you can send cryptocurrencies to other users unlimited. We’re working on allowing more levels, with different settings on what you can do within our app.

Other

Can I send my cryptos to an external wallet or exchange?

This is currently not implemented. Our team is working on possible solutions that won’t inhibit other plans we have for the app.

How can a friend add me as a contact?

Tap the connect icon on your dock App transfer, tap on your own profile in the ‘my contact’ section and then share the link or have the new user scan your QR code.

How do I send cryptos to another Ronin user?

Tap the social icon on your dock App transfer, choose the contact you wish to send money too. Finally, select the currency you want to use and the amount.

How do I change my limit/level?

We currently verify users via email, phone number, and bank account. We limit the amount in order to minimize the risk of fraud, theft, and other unlawful behavior. We are working as quickly as possible to provide more methods for user verification. Typically, these Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures involve sending photos of the front and back of an ID document, and a selfie. Ronin is working on integrating with a European ID verification provider, after which we can offer our users higher limits.
